How to Do a Parasite Cleanse Safely and Effectively
June 26, 2020Detox Parasites Naturally Using Cleansing Herbs
Symptoms like gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, or other digestive issues are common complaints of those suffering from parasitic infection, as are chronic fatigue, weakened immunity, weight gain, skin rashes, joint and muscle pain, teeth grinding, allergies, insomnia and much more. Parasites can cause a diverse range of symptoms that can linger for years, and can even worsen if the infection is left untreated.
Additionally, parasitic infections may not always show symptoms. According to the University of Maryland, “Parasites can live within the intestines for years without causing any symptoms,” making it hard to know whether we have them or not.
Most people are grossed out by the thought that they could have a parasite (or many parasites) in their body. However, parasites are some of the most abundant creatures on earth, and a pest to nearly all animals, as a parasite is characterized by its need to live off the nutrients of its host.
Humans are hosts to nearly 300 species of parasitic worms and over 70 species of protozoa, some derived from our primate ancestors and some acquired from the animals we have domesticated or come in contact with during our relatively short history on Earth.
In humans, parasites that live inside us use up our vitamins, proteins and other nutrients, depriving us of optimal nutrition. Not only do they steal nutrients from our body, they also eliminate waste inside us, releasing their toxic bacteria and viruses. Parasites are most commonly found in the colon, however, any part of the body is vulnerable to infestation: the lungs, liver, brain, blood, muscles, joints, skin, etc.
If you have a parasitic infection, it can seriously cause a negative impact on your health and wellbeing. To get rid of these nasty creatures, you have to detoxify them from your system. This can be done in a few ways, but the safest and most effective way is using natural anti-parasitic herbs, eating anti-parasitic foods, and following a parasite detox protocol like the one outlined in this article.
To learn more about the different types of parasites that can exist in the human body, read our article "Most Common Types of Parasites."
How to Do a Parasite Cleanse
As complex as the subject of parasites is, cleansing them from your body is pretty simple (but not necessarily easy). The primary treatment involves three medicinal herbs: Green Black Walnut Hull, Wormwood, and Fresh Cloves. These herbs have strong anthelmintic properties, meaning they are wonderful at expelling parasitic worms from the body. Together, these three herbs make up what is traditionally known as “wormwood complex” and are the ingredients that make up our parasite detox supplement.
Our formula is a high-grade concentration of these herbs extracted in organic cane alcohol making for a very therapeutic and effective formula. The combination of these three herbs may help support the body’s effective detoxification of both the egg and the adult stages of 100 different internal parasites, including amoebas, giardia, many worms, and liver flukes. These three herbs are considered the most potent parasite killing herbs by most functional medicine practitioners.
To get rid of parasites, one can undergo a parasite cleanse by diligently consuming this formula, following the recommended dosage closely, drinking a lot of purified water, strengthening the body’s detoxification pathways, cleansing the colon, and consuming anti-parasitic foods.
Herbs Used for Parasite Cleansing
Green Black Walnut Hulls (from the black walnut tree – juglans nigra) – Used by Native Americans as an anti-parasite, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal remedy. Its active ingredients are juglone, tannin and iodine. The tincture of the green hulls of the black walnut kills the adult stages of the parasites.
Wormwood (from the Artemisia shrub – artemisia absinthum) – Known for its vermicidal properties, wormwood helps those with a weak and under-active digestion. It increases the acidity of the stomach and the production of bile. Wormwood kills the larval stages of the parasites.
Common Cloves (from the clove tree – eugenia caryophyllata) – Anti-parasitical, anti-fungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. It also removes pain. Cloves kill the parasite eggs.
Cleansing the Colon
One of the important elements of a parasite cleanse is to cleanse the colon. Doing a colon cleanse alongside a parasite cleanse helps to ensure that you eliminate the parasites as well as any of the toxins that they may release when they are killed by the Parasite Detox Tonic.
To cleanse the colon, you’ll want to do things:
- Drink a lot of purified water (1/2 gallon -1 gallon per day)
- Take 1-2 servings of our Fulvic Acid & Trace Ocean Minerals diluted in water each day
- Consume 2-4 TBSP of soaked chia seeds per day
- Eat plenty of high-fiber foods
- Avoid overeating and consuming foods that are difficult to digest
Water is the great cleanser of the body, flushing out toxins, improving elimination, and nourishing all of our organ systems so they can do their job effectively. Making sure you are drinking plenty of purified water will keep you hydrated and will help your body eliminate toxins and parasites during the cleanse.
Fulvic acid is an amazing chelator of heavy metals and binds to toxins. Parasites often contain many toxins in their bodies, and when they are killed by the anti-parasitic herbs, they release these toxins into the system. It is important that we consume something that can bind to these toxins and flush them from the body. Fulvic acid is one of the greatest binding agents and it greatly supports detoxification and elimination of toxins in the body.
Chia seeds are high in fiber and also contain Omega 3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation in the colon and remove the built-up toxins. Consuming a few tablespoons of soaked chia seeds each day can really support your elimination. It doesn’t really matter how you consume them—you can eat them on their own, make a delicious chia pudding, add them to smoothies, mix them in oatmeal, or any other way you want to consume them. Just make sure you are eating some each day during your cleanse and it will really help to flush the colon.
Dietary fiber increases the weight and size of your stool and softens it, making it easier to pass and decreasing your chance of constipation. Fibrous foods support elimination and help to maintain bowel health, and they are an important element of cleansing the colon.
Enhancing the Body’s Natural Detoxification Pathways
Your body is always detoxifying toxins that you encounter on a daily basis. In fact, your body has special organs dedicated to this task of daily detoxification. The major organs and systems of detoxification are the liver, kidneys, and lymphatic system. To support your detox and enhance its effectiveness, you will want to do your best to support these natural detoxification pathways. You can do this by:
- Consuming our Liver Detox & Support Tonic alongside your cleanse to support liver health and to enhance detoxification.
- Drink plenty of water to flush the kidneys, and consume foods that support kidney health like kidney beans, dandelion, lemon, parsley, watermelon, dates, and pomegranate.
- Exercise regularly. Regular exercise is key for a healthy lymphatic

Post Cleanse
We recommend doing this 90 day cleanse at least twice per year. Optionally, you can do this cleanse more frequently, just be sure to take at least 4 weeks off between parasite cleanses.
After the cleanse, be mindful of the foods that you are eating, as well as how it is that you are eating. Parasites thrive in a toxic gut that is full of undigested food and waste. If we cleanse our bodies of built up toxins, and focus on properly digesting whole foods and herbs, we can eliminate the internal habitat that allows parasites to flourish.
Cleansing with this formula, and following this protocol twice a year, eating a balanced whole foods diet, and following proper eating protocols that support digestion, while also doing your best to avoid some of the major sources of parasitic infection is the best way to maintain a healthy body free of harmful parasites. Really prevention, sanitation, nutrition, and detoxification is the name of the game.
To rid ourselves of parasites involves cleansing them a few times a year, and following certain protocols that help us to prevent contact with them in the first place. While they may be an uncomfortable reality to accept, they are nothing to fear, but simply something to understand. Once we are educated on what parasites are and how to eliminate them from our bodies, we can truly take control of our own health.

Fulvic Acid Foot Bath for Parasites
If you want to go the extra mile, you can also do a regular foot bath with fulvic acid in it. When taking a fulvic acid foot bath parasites toxic microscopic waste can be drawn out through your feet. It is the same principle as taking fulvic acid internally, but just some added support to the body. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a nice foot bath?
How Long Does It Take to Kill Parasites?
There is no single answer for this question, as it depends on several factors, such as what kind of parasitic infection you have, how severe the infection is, how functional your detoxification pathways are, how well you stick to the protocol, and many more. However, the average time it takes to clear parasitic infections following a parasite detox protocol varies between a few weeks to a few months.
How to Know if Your Parasite Cleanse is Working
When doing a parasite cleanse, a key way to tell if it is working is if you are eliminating more than usual. You may even see some parasites in your stool. Don’t be alarmed! While it may be a bit shocking, this is a good sign your cleanse is working. Additionally, over time, a relief in bloating is a key sign a parasite cleanse is working as well.
Parasites are an uncomfortable reality that everyone deals with, though most are unaware of it. Keeping your body free of nasty parasites is one of the greatest ways to ensure your health and longevity. Simply by following this parasite detox protocol twice a year, you can make a significant step toward improving your health and quality of life.
