Nontoxic Conditioner for Optimal Hair Health

The quality of your shampoo and conditioner can make a significant difference in the health of your hair and scalp. Unfortunately, many hair care products today are full of toxic chemicals that dry out your hair and scalp and have a negative effect on your scalp microbiome. We designed a natural, nontoxic shampoo and conditioner so you can be confident that you are giving your hair the care that it deserves.

Our Organic Conditioner is made with exotic fruits, probiotics, hypoallergenic soap nuts, and Ayurvedic-certified organic water-soluble extracts. It is rich in natural compounds that benefit hair health, help to make hair softer and easier to manage, and protect hair from damage, including a variety of organic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It is truly a one-of-a-kind natural, nontoxic conditioner that contains the following ingredients:

Artesian Spring Water

Jets of artesian water gushing from the ground and flowing down cascades down.

The base of our nontoxic hair conditioner is artesian spring water. This is a completely natural and pure medium that naturally releases the saponins in soap nut, which helps to create a gentle soaping and smooth lathering effect.

Indian Laurel Leaf

Indian Laurel Leaf (Litsea glutinosa) is an herb native to India but can now be found growing around the world in places like Australia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and the islands of the Western Pacific. The leaf of Indian Laurel has many traditional uses. One of its major properties is acting as an antimicrobial agent, helping to kill harmful bacteria and other pathogens. In our nontoxic deep conditioner, Indian Laurel Leaf is used to help remove the bacteria that build up in your hair and scalp from day to day.

Dillenia Indica Whole Fruit

Dillenia Indica, commonly known as elephant apple, is a species of Dillenia native to tropical regions of Asia. It has many health benefits and is particularly useful as an ingredient for natural hair-care products because it produces a smooth lathering effect. It is also used traditionally in Ayurveda as a hair tonic helping to regenerate hair in conditions of hair loss or damage.

Whole Thai Lime

Thai lime (Citrus hystrix), also known as kaffir lime or makrut lime, is a citrus fruit native to Southeast Asia. The juice, pulp, and skin of Thai lime have many benefits for hair health, helping to strengthen hair follicles and slow the onset of male pattern baldness.

Rice Bran

Rice bran is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which help to deeply moisturize the scalp and hair. This deep hydration helps strengthen and smooth hair while promoting healthy hair growth and protection from environmental stress.

Pineapple Juice

Pineapple juice (Ananas comosus) is a rich source of vitamin C and can help stimulate hair growth. It also helps make your hair look thicker and more full while also producing a natural layer of silkiness.

Wildcrafted Soap Nut

Soap nuts are actually only the dried shells of the soapberry nut, which come from the Sapindus mukorossi tree. This tree is native to India and Nepal but can be found now in tropical climates around the world. Even though they are called soap “nuts,” they are not really nuts but the dried berries of the soapberry tree—so there’s no need to worry if you have a nut allergy of any kind.

Soap nut shells contain a natural soap, called Saponin, that gets released when the nutshells absorb water, creating a soaping effect. The best part about this natural soap is that it is completely organic and biodegradable. Soap nut is an excellent alternative to using chemical detergents, which is why we chose to include this as the primary soaping agent in our nontoxic shampoo and conditioner.

Organic Flaxseed Glycerin

In addition to artesian spring water, organic flaxseed glycerin (Linum usitatissimum) also acts as a base for our nontoxic conditioner, helping to create a balanced consistency. It also moisturizes your hair and helps prevent breakage.

Organic Berberis Aristata Root Extract

Indian Barberry (Berberis aristata) is an Ayurvedic herb that has powerful anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties, helping to prevent fungal scalp issues like dandruff. The major culprit of dandruff is a fungus called Malassezia that feeds on the oils produced by the scalp. Indian Barberry is a great natural dandruff remedy as it helps to fight off the Malassezia fungus. The anti-inflammatory properties of Indian Barberry also help protect the skin on the scalp.

Organic Tulsi Leaf Extract

Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum), also known as Holy Basil, is an Ayurvedic herb that has powerful adaptogenic properties, helping the body better adapt to stress. When applied topically, tulsi soothes the skin, prevents hair loss or thinning, fights dandruff and helps to alleviate skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

Organic Freeze Dried Turmeric Juice

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory herbs in nature. Treating hair with turmeric helps keep the skin of the scalp healthy. It also helps to prevent and treat oily hair. Some studies suggest it may also have benefits for hair growth.

Organic Freeze Dried Ginger Juice

Ginger (Zingiber officinale), like its cousin turmeric, is an anti-inflammatory herb that can act as a remedy for various scalp conditions. Ginger also contains certain fatty acids that can improve the strength of hair.

Organic Amla Fruit and Amla Fruit Extract

Amla (Emblica Officinalis Gaertn), also called Indian Gooseberry or Amalaki, is one of the highest sources of vitamin C in nature. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that helps to protect the skin of the scalp from oxidative damage caused by free radical exposure.

Wildcrafted Amla Oil

In addition to using amla fruit and amla fruit extract, our nontoxic conditioner also uses wildcrafted amla oil. Amla oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin E, all of which contribute to cellular regeneration and promote healthy hair. Amla oil helps the hair, encourages fresh hair growth, and helps control premature greying of hair.

Organic Orange Essential Oil

Organic orange essential oil gives this nontoxic conditioner a mild but pleasant citrus scent. The vitamins in orange essential oil also nourish hair follicles and help to treat dry, irritated scalp conditions, and help to eliminate dandruff.

Probiotics from Natural Fermentation

In addition to the ingredients above, our Organic Conditioner contains natural enzymes and probiotics that help to create a healthy scalp microbiome. The scalp microbiome is essential for hair health and is widely overlooked in hair care today. All of the skin on our bodies, including the scalp, is covered with trillions of bacteria and other microorganisms. Like the gut microbiome, the balance of bacteria in our scalp microbiome is essential to its health.

The probiotic bacteria in our Organic Shampoo and Conditioner help to create a healthy scalp microbiome, especially when used daily. Over time, the harmful bacteria and fungus on the scalp get eradicated by the natural antifungal and antimicrobial agents in this formula and get replaced with beneficial probiotics—particularly Lactobacillus casei, Rhodopseudomanas palustrist, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
